Lower East Side Tenement Museum

Chartered in 1988, the Lower East Side Tenement Museum illustrates the life of the people who lived in the tenement building at 97 Orchard, home to an estimated 7000 people from over 20 nations between 1863-1935. It also illustrates the changing streetscape and neighborhood of the Lower East Side. The Museum also houses a theater at the 90 Orchard Street location.
